Point Of Contact- Heather
Should you be new to our u3a, then it may be helpful for you to know that we are not a walking group – some of us can't walk too far, or too fast, or would prefer not to walk up hills.
Nor are we a camera group – the main intention is not to tell members how to make better use of their cameras, with their many functions, although in the spirit of all our Groups we will pool our shared knowledge. We find that photos taken with a mobile 'phone can compare very favourably with photos taken with more specialised equipment!
We go on our trips out by public transport.
If you would like to join us for an enjoyable stroll in pleasant company, camera in hand, which invariably also includes a “lunch stop”, with our photos shared between members of the Group with the help of Flickr, please contact me.

CORNWOOD CHURCH FLOWER FESTIVAL MAY 2025
We visited Cornwood Church Flower Festival on 24 May 2025. The theme of the beautiful floral displays was Heaven Sent from an impressive number of contributors including our own Liz Morphew whose work was entitled The Ights.

Last year whilst at Tate Modern I saw an amazing exhibition by Anthony McCall on light. I was immediately inspired by the effects created by tunnels of light and constructions created by the light within a dark space. It created an environment of shifting sands and landscapes, and even within the darkness images were created. Having just spent two yeas with considerable problems with my sight this seems an obvious choice for Heaven Sent - Light and Sound which lead on to other IGHTS of flight, night, might, right.
So here I have chosen SIGHT, LIGHT AND FLIGHT and feel this gives an amazing environment for the many colours, shapes and beauty that flowers gives each one of us.
We not only enjoyed seeing the beautiful floral displays, which are always of a very high standard, but also having “tea and cake” together in The Old Vicarage gardens.
